Oldlands Stud had one of our most successful race days on the 27th February with a first and second place in two graded races!
Zarina (3 y.o filly by Master Of My Fate out of Mamalushka by Kitalpha (USA)) won the Vasco Prix Du Cap Gr.3 for owners IW Longmore, Bryn Ressel and NM Shirtliff, trainer Candice Bass-Robinson and jockey Oswald Noach. Her 4th win, she was ridden very well when Oswald showed her the gap and she took it. Congratulations and thank you, you made the mare proud. Mamalushka is from a mare line which I admired in the 70s when her 2nd dam visited Ribomar for owner Terence Hardy, a very fine dam with excellent results.
Ambiorix (2 year old colt by Vercingetorix out of Darling Moon by Indigo Magic (GB)) finished 2nd in the Cape of Good Hope Nursery Gr.3 for owners Eileen and Seamus Burns, David Allen, trainer Vaughn Marshall, and jockey Luke Ferraris. Ambiorix is the first runner of Darling Moon, a mare bred at Oldlands in the 3rd generation from one of our foundation female lines.
